Pears in Red Wine Recipe

2 Cups red wine
1 Cup sugar
1 cinnamon stick (or 4 whole cloves)
6-8 medium pears
4 thin strips lemon rind
Methods:
In saucepan put wine, sugar, and spices; stir over medium heat and bring to a boil. Peel the pears, keeping them whole and leaving the stem; place in a saucepan and turn the fruit to coat well. Add the lemon rind, cover and simmer 30 minutes or until tender, turning occasionally.
